Taiko drums: Sacramento Taiko Dan

Live calligraphy performance accompanied by Sacramento Taiko Dan at the International Taiko Festival 2012, hosted by San Francisco Taiko Dojo.
Surrounded by numbers of powerful Japanese taiko drums, I wrote a large piece “鼓舞” (Ko-Bu), meaning “inspiration” or “encouragement.” Taiko drumming is like a dancing, playing powerful beats with the whole body. The united sound echoes, resonates far and faraway, and inspires viewers, fills them up with infinite energies.
This piece was dedicated to the spirit of traditional Japanese taiko, and one of the members of Sacramento Taiko Dan who’s fighting with cancer.
